By the way, I'm sorry that I didn't put this up as soon as I was done with it. Once I was finished with all my classes for the quarter it was me, the couch, and sleep for almost the entire week.
By the suggestion of my teacher, I have created a blog to log the progression of my 2D Animation Studio Assignment! WHOOT.

What Came Out of It All!
Even though I'm sure no one looks at this at all anymore, I thought it to be my duty to post the "final product" for the class. Of course, I want to go back into it and make it the animation I can be super confident and proud of, but nonetheless, BEHOLD THE OUTCOME OF 10 WEEKS OF WORK.

Another Rough Animated Scene
This update is a little late, but I just wanted to put it up to keep track of my progress on here.
I still need to implement the changes that my advisor suggested, as well as animate some basic eye movements, but it's still passable.

Some Small Changes to the Animation...
Just as I was beginning to finally start on what's technically the first scene for my Animation, I realized that I never really checked to see how much in total all of the dialogue will be for it. and when I checked it was about 95 seconds total for all 7 scenes planned out. I only need at least 60 seconds of animation for this project, so I've decided to cut out the first scene entirely to and focus on the remaining scenes. It'll bring down the time to 79 seconds so I'm still well over the amount I need.
It really all comes down to me not wanting to focus on the first scene which is a TON of walking and talking at the same time, as well as the change of backgrounds and camera angles.
If I get the rest of the remaining six scenes in a finished format ahead of time, I will definitely look into animating that first scene.

Finally! The Beginnings of some ANIMATION
I finally recorded myself some audio and grouped lines into 10-15 second clips for each "scene" of the entire animation. I decided to start at the end mostly because that last section of dialogue only Tree Trunks is talking and I know the camera isn't going anywhere so plopping and resizing the background should be super easy to do once this is cleaned up.
I first focused on moving TreeTrunk's Trunk and Ears since those would really be the only things of her body that would actively move. Afterwards I did mouth movements. In order to really get how to do the mouth shapes of Tree Trunks I'm really going to have to watch and episode with her in it. From what I recalled by memory she has pretty broad and big mouth shapes so for the most part I tried to stick with that. I did the eyes last and had to re-tweak them a few times because they were moving WAY TOO MUCH. I might have to work on them some more as well.

Opening!
I quickly animated what the beginning will be. Once I record my voices, I will update this with me saying AAADDDDVENTURE TIME! and probably will add a title card just like they do for the actual show.

Tree Trunks Interior
So I finished tracing the actual backgrounds and accommodated the bed. I also decided to just not put in the oven at all because I really didn't want to improvise one angle of it too much. The bed kind of looks out of place but it's doable.
OH. and I know that there is a difference in the number of windows but luckily for me, the animation is focus on the bed and not on the window side.

UPDATED STORYBOARDS
These are updated storyboards for the animation! I added a few notes to them as well as added more to the end of it with Tree Trunks speaking! I also numbered them!
Reference for the inside of Tree Trunks House
Thanks to the Adventure Time wiki, I was able to find reference for the inside of Tree Trunk's house in both of the views that I needed! YAY!
I'm in the process of putting them both into illustrator and tracing it. I would use the actual images if it weren't for the fact that I need a bed in her house for my scene. So the changes in the background will include...
moving the stove
AND
Making a bed!
other things may get rearranged but it should still look relatively the same.

Apple Background!
After scanning the internet for a background for the beginning of my animation, I came to the conclusion that I had to make one of my own. I used the picture of the outside of tree trunks house as a guideline of how the trees should look as well as what colors to use.
I did it in Illustrator in a very haphazard way but it came out OK.
If I had done it in a more clean and organized way, I probably would have the layers moving at different rates to make the walking more believable but as of now i'm just going to hope that this image just looks well when I loop it as they're walking.

Backgrounds Picture Reference
I haven't gotten around to drawing out what my backgrounds are going to looks like, but I did collect some reference for the type of trees I'm leaning towards doing for the walk in the forest, the outside of Tree Trunks' house, and the inside of Tree Trunks house. On a separate post I will post my own concepts of the backgrounds I'll make and use for this animation when they are done.
I will have to rearrange the layout of Tree Trunks' house interior to accommodate a bed.
The trees will probably have apples for the walkway, just to make the background match the trees in Tree Trunks house's background.
Character Reference!
FINN THE HUMAN
JAKE THE DOG
LUMPY SPACE PRINCESS
TREE TRUNKS
GRANDMA WOLF-
I didn't do a turnaround for Grandma Wolf because she's pretty much staying in the bed and will me for the most part be viewed in a 3/4 view. I also looked at previous wolf designs from the show in order to figure out what this character would look like.
